By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, registering for notifications, submitting information, participating in a search-related activity, connecting a third-party service, or otherwise using SARhive, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.
1. About SARhive
SARhive is a technology platform designed to help communities, volunteers, coordinators, families, organizations, and other participants share information, communicate, organize resources, distribute alerts, and support search and rescue related activities.
SARhive may provide features involving:
- missing-person alerts;
- public case information;
- search coordination;
- maps and location information;
- volunteer participation;
- communications;
- equipment and resource information;
- operational planning;
- community preparedness;
- public awareness;
- integrations with external services.
SARhive is not, unless expressly stated otherwise, a police agency, fire department, ambulance service, emergency dispatch center, government authority, medical provider, or professional emergency response agency.
2. Not an Emergency Service
SARhive must not be used as a substitute for emergency services.
If a person is in immediate danger or requires urgent police, fire, medical, or emergency assistance, contact the appropriate emergency service or public authority.
SARhive does not guarantee that an alert, message, report, request, location, or other communication will be received, reviewed, delivered, or acted upon within any specific period of time.
3. Search and Rescue Disclaimer
SARhive may help participants organize information and coordinate resources, but SARhive does not guarantee:
- that a missing person will be located;
- that a search will be successful;
- that information submitted by users is complete or accurate;
- that volunteers, organizations, or authorities will respond;
- that any particular resource will be available.
Search and rescue activities may involve physical, environmental, operational, and legal risks.
Participants are responsible for evaluating their own training, physical condition, equipment, transportation, weather conditions, terrain, access permissions, and personal safety.
Instructions from police, emergency authorities, professional search and rescue organizations, park authorities, landowners, or other legally authorized officials take precedence over information provided through SARhive.

You are responsible for:
- providing accurate information;
- maintaining the security of your account;
- protecting authentication methods and credentials;
- promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
You must not impersonate another person, organization, emergency responder, public authority, SARhive representative, or volunteer coordinator.

5. Roles and Permissions
SARhive may assign different levels of access depending on a user's role, relationship to a case, organization, incident, team, or administrative function.

- agency;
- permission to enter restricted or private property.
Users remain responsible for complying with applicable laws and obtaining any required authorization.
6. Volunteer Participation
Some SARhive activities may involve voluntary participation.
Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, participation does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or contractor relationship with SARhive.
Users are responsible for determining whether they are appropriately trained, equipped, physically capable, insured, and legally permitted to perform any activity they choose to undertake.
SARhive may restrict access or participation when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, operational integrity, or protection of individuals involved in a case.
